Tricia McCauley,
Certified Health
Counselor
Tricia McCauley is a
Certified Health
Counselor and
graduate of the
Institute for
Integrative
Nutrition.
She is certified by
the
American Association
of Drugless
Practitioners
and is currently
pursuing a Masters
of Science degree in
Herbal Medicine at
the
Tai Sophia Institute.
Tricia's exploratory
journey with food
and cooking began
when she was
experiencing
problems with severe
food allergies..
Allergy tests and
medicine did not
affect the itchy red
hives that attacked
her body for hours
at a time. Finding
alternate foods,
learning to cook
with brand-new
staples, and
eventually cutting
all gluten, corn,
soy, garlic, and
canola oil out of
her diet, taught
Tricia a great deal
about self-care and
patience, and made
her a self-taught
expert on dietary
transitions.
Besides nutrition
counseling, Tricia
has worked in the
Washington, DC
theatre community
since 1992 as a
performer, producer,
and teacher. Her
integrative
nutrition education,
background of
dietary exploration,
and her theatrical
experience give her
a unique toolkit.
She brings
creativity,
compassion, humor,
and personal
understanding to her
clients, whether
they are undertaking
their own dietary
transitions,
learning to breathe
from the diaphragm,
or learning their
way around the
kitchen.
Tricia also enjoys
gardening, organic
farming, traveling,
yoga, hanging about
with her cat, and
playing the mandolin
very badly.
